I was, according to my Mom and Dad, born premature near Easter Sunday. (I’m not sure by which calendar). Anyway, it is traditional for godparents in the Christian Eastern Orthodox faith to take part in naming the child. Since I was a girl born around Easter, I was given the middle name Ljiljiana. The North American version is often spelled Liliana. This means Lily in English. Hence I was named after the Easter Lily.
What I am trying to do is not meant to glorify myself but to share and glorify my God and Father who is in heaven and to share and glorify his Son Jesus. I decided then to go by my middle name. I hope and pray that I can remain focused on the cross of my Lord and Saviour so that I can live up to this name.
